The physicians of Southern California Desert Retina Consultants are innovators in the field, often attending conferences, publishing articles, conducting clinical trials, and producing helpful patient information.

We have been delighted with the addition of Dr. Asha S.D. Nuthi to our practice, a medical retina specialist who is board certified in ophthalmology. Dr. Nuthi has a special interest in diabetic retinal diseases. She graduated cum laude from Vanderbilt University and with honors from the University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine. Prior to her career in California, Dr. Nuthi treated patients at Retina Specialists of North Alabama.

Dr. Chan was the senior instructor and joined several distinguished retina specialists at the American Academy of Ophthalmology 2005 in Chicago this past October for a course on managing dislocated lens fragments, IOL and endocapsular rings. Drs. Chan and Lin were also coauthors in a paper on an innovative techique of repositioning dislocated bulky all-acrylic PCIOl during a scientific session. In addition, the scientific poster on the largest series of patients with West Nile Virus ocular lesions in North America, coauthored by Drs. Chan and Lin with DR. Limstrom of ALaska, was well received at the AAO.
